Negative energy balance
All cows get into a negative energy balance around the time of calving. A negative energy balance arises because immediately after calving cows take in too little feed relative to the amount of milk produced. During this negative energy balance cows draw on their fat reserves. This breakdown of fats, which is known as fat mobilisation, increases the workload on the liver and the cows may contract ketosis (prolonged milk fever) or other diseases.
A negative energy balance leads to a reduction in the animal’s appetite. It is thus important to provide a diet that is high in glucose during the negative energy balance.
Green Energy Bolus
The Green Energy Bolus is a supplementary animal feed (mineral feed) to boost energy requirements and reduce the risk of ketosis. This bolus contributes to the good health of your cows and produces an increase in their energy levels. It is important that the energy levels of your cows remain normal and that any deficiency is supplemented. Milk production decreases in animals that have a negative energy balance.
To support the energy balance.
The Green Energy Bolus is a supplementary animal feed (mineral feed) to support the energy balance. This bolus contributes to the good health of your cows and produces an increase in the energy level. The Green Energy Bolus rapidly boosts energy levels and quickly corrects energy balance. The Green Energy Bolus contains various ingredients with a high energy value, and the addition of prebiotics ensures rapid and efficient absorption of these ingredients. The bolus also contains vitamins and minerals to improve the animal’s general condition.
